Thread Starter

Just got our first chickens at the beginning of April - 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Amberlinks.  We are pretty sure one of the RIRs is a male (they were all supposed to be pullets).  They are 7-8 weeks old now, fully feathered and enjoying their coop and run in our backyard.  I have already gotten a lot of great information from this site - looking forward to more.

Thanks!

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

Considering how often people get males that are supposed to be pullets   -  just one is a blessing.  Hope the rest will stay female for you.

Hi and welcome aboard - glad that you've joined us.

Once your chicks are 6-8 weeks you can post pics of the suspect ones on the What Breed or Gender is This? forum for confirmation of gender.

Best wishes
