I have a polish chicks I picked up the weekend. I think she's just a few days old. She is so tiny (and cute as you can see).
I have noticed she has had a little bit of runny droppings. I cleaned pasty butt off her yesterday but it was just a little bit.
this morning I checked and her crop wasn't empty. I picked her up to massage it and there is a soft cracking noise when I touch it. The noise sounds like it you rubbed sand grains between something or crinkled up paper.
she is active and I did see her drinking and eating last night so I'm not are what to make of this. They have had no treats since I got them. I feed the scratch and peck starter feed and they are in a sand brooder, I've never provided grit to mt chicks since it seems they peck at the sand with the same effect.
is this grainy, crinkly noise normal? I have a friend who said she's gotten several polish and never been able to keep them alive so I'm worried about losing her.
