Hen got a patch of skin and feathers bit off by a predator last week

Besides trying to keep it clean with an antibiotic spray I bought at TSC

is there anything else I should be doing?

Her behavior is normal, she's eating, and drinking water and generally acting

normal. I am just wondering if there is an ointment I should put on the wound

to protect from flies.

The wound is equal to the size of two to three quarters.

Her feathers will never grow back on this area either as skin is missing too.

I am also getting concerned it seems she is picking off feathers from the area.

I am hoping she isn't picking herself apart...

Has anyone else experienced this type of situation and hen lived?

What should I expect in the coming day, weeks, months?

Any input would be appreciated. I can't find a local avian or poultry vet anywhere

local to Mansfield, MA.

Bring her inside away from flies until the wound has scabbed over well. Vetericyn wound spray, betadine, or plain bacitracin or neosporin ointments work well for wound treatment. SWAT ointment from the feed store horse section, or permethrin can help to keep flies at bay. Her feathers may well grow back in once the wound heals. Here is a thread showing the recovery process:
