I am not sure what happened to my girls, I live in central Texas and something got passed my dogs and raided my coop. It broke the neck on one hen and ate part of the backside of 2 other hens. One hen hardly had any vent area left, unfortunately it was my "lost lady" I have mentioned in another story and I had to put her down. The other hurt hen I think I can save I am not sure but she only has a small hole about the size of a golf ball. What could have done this any ideas? Can not find but a small entry hole on the backside of the coop. Just broke my heart to lose two of my best hens and my last 2 Rhode Island Reds. I truly do not believe I will ever get used to having to put a chicken down I raised. It breaks my heart every time. I know it's the right thing to do and it is part of raising chickens but it is still hard.
Hi Everyone! I have 6 Golden-Sex Links hens, 1 Rhode Island red hen, 1 Rhode Island Red rooster, I have 5 Arucana hens and I Arucana rooster. Also I have 2 watchdogs that watch over my hens daily. I enjoy my chickens each day and look forward to seeing what they do next! EGGCITED!!!!!
