Get in the coop!!!

Will my poults ever put themselves to bed like chickens? I have four six week old poults who have a perfectly good coop to sleep in at night, but they prefer to sleep in a pile on the ground. Do turkeys have the roosting instinct to go to bed at night? Or am I doomed to scooping them up every night and sticking them in their house?

They can get in and out of the coop easily, their feed is in there. And they shelter in it during the day if it rains (to be fair, I had to show them how to do that at first too). Just prefer to sleep under the stars.

They are still kids who require someone to put them to bed. My chicks often need to be chased in at 6 weeks too. Most young poultry have their mom who takes them to roost at night. You are that mom, expect to do it for a while yet. After mine reach about 4-5 months they are on their own.

They are meaty little handfuls, eventually I get mine to follow me instead of carrying them.
