Greetings - this is my take on the car antenna coop door. I used a NEMA rated electrical box from Amazon (<$20) along with some CN101 timers (~$10 each) and some cheap terminal strips from Amazon (~$12). Some wire, pulleys and a few other items and here we are! I added the light so I can get 14 hours of light on the hens during the winter and just in case I want to look in at night.

I created a schematic of the controls that shows how the wiring works.

Fun project - now to get the birds in there!

I like the setup and execution of the wiring. All nice and tidy. To top it all off you used connecting blocks. Nice! But why use the antenna? They are weak and all around more hassle than effectiveness and efficiency. Don't get me wrong. I like that you used a block and tackle type system to decrease the force it takes the antenna to open the door. That too is nice. Which to me it seems you could have used a car window or wiper motor.

Are the timers exposed to the weather?
