Night Time Preditor Killing My Birds.

Thread Starter

I've lost three hens to a night-time predator over the past several weeks. I live in South Jersey.  Rural area and am surrounded by acres upon acres of woods.  My run is surrounded by a 4' fence. I have no roof net.   The predator kills the bird, carries it to the corner of the run, and, eats almost everything. The remains consist of a skeleton with feathers, legs and a head.  Any ideas on what creature is responsible?

I'm no expert  but, wonder if it is an owl.  Please post in detail on the predator threads  - folks there may recognize the  m.o.    Can you lock birds in coop at dusk?
