1st time hatcher...one hatched no others...one more pipped but doesnt look good

Thread Starter

so I have 16 eggs, 1 hatched on day 20...nothing else since then. Noticed last night that another had pipped but it didn't look like other that hatched...now it looks bloody and there was no mvmt, chirping or anymore pipping/cracking from egg and it has been over 24 hours. I saw a post before creating an account that said to peel away some of egg to see if it was still moist and breathing. I chipped away some shell and can def tell there is a chick but there is no mvmt or anything. is it dead? should I assist? what to do  1st time and not sure

:welcome  If there is no movement, chances are it has died. The blood would be a sign it probably pipped into a prominent vein. :(  You can treat it as an assist to make sure.
