There are threads on here that will help.. I'd recommend reading thru..
I shoot for 40 to 45 humidity first 18 days 70 last 3 days.. Far as temp fan is 99.5 degrees still air is more.. please check out the threads. .. the chicks are counting on you to do so

I haven't put eggs in the incubator yet, 'cause my incubator has a tendency to cook the eggs, so I'm gonna try a night light for heat.

What ever your heat source. You need a thermostat. . If yours is cooking eggs ya need a new one..

Don't try just Wing it without one..
After all there not just eggs you can toss if it don't work..
Once life starts to begin.. there counting on you.. why cause them to suffer and die. I'd recommend fixing your incubator. . With a new thermostat. .or rebuilding with after market parts. Don't just put a night light in and call it good

I'm not gonna put them in until I get the temp and humidity right, I'm gonna keep an eye on the incubator for a few days BEFORE I put the eggs in. I have a thermometer/hygrometer it says the temp is perfect, but the humidity is 60% so I have to fix that, Would putting a fan in lower the humidity?

I also closed the incubator which caused the temp to soar so high it cooked the eggs. The temp when I checked was over 130 degrees Fahrenheit. So my fault.

How do I get the humidity down to the 30%-40%, because it's at 64% humid and it won't go down, I took the water out of the incubator, so why is it so high

I have a thermometer/Hygrometer. The thermometer says it is 99.5F, the Hygrometer says it's 65% humid, I need to lower the humidity to around 30-45% humid. Can someone please tell me how to lower the humidity.

Glad you got a thermometer. . But you stated your using a nightlight? You need a thermostat to control the heat from that..
