Hi, not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but should we put food in water in the coop when the chickens go in at night? My chicks have only recently started putting themselves away, so not sure If I should still bring their food and water in with them.

I've kept food and water in the coop since they were chicks. They have access to both 24/7.
It is a question that is asked frequently. It really depends on many factors. Such as. Is the coop big enough to hold them without taking too much space? Do you leave the door open to the run at night? Do you get out early enough to open up for them? Those conditions are really what determines how you handle it. Sure they don't get down off the roost at night to eat or drink much in the dark so you don't need to have the water there while it is dark. But if you are a late riser then on those hot mornings they will need the water. So it comes down to how you work your flock and the facilities you have.
