I am using a new incubator in my classroom and it has been working great. It is the briasta octagon 20. I have been trying to use the humidity pump that goes with it but the water is not going through the tube. If anyone uses the pump I could really use some suggestions!

If your not about to go into hatching phase then likely you don't even need humidity at this time. Drier incubating has higher success rates. I like to run 30% RH incubating and 70-75% RH for hatching. The key is to be over 70% or late hatching chicks can get stuck to the shells.

Others will chime in about using the Brinsea auto pump.

Hi welcome-byc.gif

Glad you could join us here! I have the Brinsea ocatgon 20 and pump. The trick with it is to make sure ~

# The lead from the pump is connected to the incubator correctly.

# You have primed the tubing with water prior to wrapping it around the pump. Just suck the water through the tube and nip it at the end. Wrap around the pump and connect it to the rigid tubing that goes into the incubator.

# The tubing is going the right way round the pump. If its the wrong way it will be pumping towards the water tank and not the incubator.

# That you have set the humidity level on the incubator to what you want. Of late I've been incubating at 35% and my pump has not come on much. What have you set it at and what is the incubator reading?

Hope this helps and good luck frow.gif

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
