Hi,

I'm on day 19 of incubation. Lockdown was day 17.
I had six eggs shipped and only three have made it to now. I shone a flashlight into the bator this morning and I can see full air sacs - they have grown as they should but no sign of internal pipping. The chicks are moving are still laying at the point part of the egg. Is this ok?

My last hatch was a fail due to temperature constantly going up and down but I bought myself a new brinsea mini for this hatch. Temperatures have stayed constantly at 37.5. Humidity was 40% up until day 17 then increased to 65/69%.

I'm so anxious to see them hatch alive with no tears this time.

If you didn't get the eggs out and actually candle an internal pip can be hard to see. All you have done sounds great and the air cell growing large enough is fantastic. For now I'm afraid your going to have to sit on those hands and wait. I know just how your feeling but you really have to be patient.

Good luck with your little polish eggs :fl

Thank you. I'm sitting on the edge after what happened to my last batch. They all died around day 18 so this is a must....i've done everything so right this time :-/

I really do know how your feeling but right now there is nothing else you can do barring keeping the humidity up.

You have done things right so things are in your favour :hugs

Thank you. I really want to be able to come back with photo's of my dudes in the next few days :-D

OH MY LORD!! I can hear tweeting coming from the one of the eggs!! I'm so happy I could poop rainbows!!

Is it usually around a day from now when they hatch pip?

:weee

If you can hear peeping they have internally pipped into the air cell and are now breathing oxygen. Once that oxygen becomes low and the co2 high it kicks them into making an external pip in the shell. They can be internally pipped for up to 24 hours. At first the external may just be a tiny crack in the shell but it's enough for them to be able to breathe. They can sit like this for another 24 hours before zipping around the egg and hatching. Each chick is individual though and may not take the 24 hours.

Good luck :fl

One just pipped the shell.

A small crack literally in front of my eyes. I never thought i'd get to see that, ever!
The other two eggs are still and quiet. Fingers crossed :)
