I haven't posted much, but I've been here, reading, reading, and reading! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the fantastic information I've found - I couldn't have managed for the past 15 months without this great resource here at backyardchickens.com. Thank you all!
One of the chicks I got last year in March was sort of a runt - she grew at about 2/3 the speed of the other chicks. Even now, at 14 months old, she is just starting to get real tail feathers. So I named her Baby-Chick. At the end of April, she was the first hen to go broody, so I stuck 8 eggs under her on May 7. She stuck to that nest like glue! Last night when I came home from work, there was a bunch of little peeping coming from under her - I'm so excited!! This morning I've checked in on her several times, and I got this adorable picture - I have to share. I would be a total nervous wreck without the advice I've found here, but I know to just let Baby-chick do her thing with her baby chicks!
