Hey all, I need to sell some of my eight week old birds and I'd like to know their genders for selling. I can guess on many but some have me confused. They're mixes (EE roos over EE, OE, Welsummer and Marans hens) and some have weird combs that I'm not even sure if they're pea combs or not. I'd really like your feedback on my gender guesses. Also, what would you call the combs on birds #2 and #14?

I think you have a good handle on it. I've found I have problems with some of the mixes I've done, Easter egger, olive eggers where I've used welsumer and cream legbars That throws some pretty big combs, even on the girls into the mix.
Now I have a situation where I added extra eggs in addition to the ones I wanted to hatch in the incubator. I don't know about some of them, but I'm not sure who their mother is. If they're a welsummer child or grandchild or an OE with both welsummer and cream legbar thrown in, they could be pullets with larger combs, especially if they're pale.
I have different breeds and some of my hens have larger combs than my rooster.
