Raising Baby Chicks

New to raising chicks and I'm not sure how much light they need. Any suggestions would be appreciated. What temperature do you keep them? All of them are around a week old.

Chicks need to be kept warm, 95º the first week, and subtract 5º each week until they are feathered.  So at a week old yours need about 90º. It is warmth they need and most people get it from lightbulbs, heat lamps etc.  Some are using ceramic heat emitters which are like bulbs but put out heat  and no light.

There are innumerable forums on this site and there is the Learning Center. Just do a search on the top of the page for any subject you are needing to learn about.  It is a veritable encyclopedia  of chicken knowledge.

Good luck and welcome to BYC!
