I have a 1 yr old hen who in the last couple of days has had a swollen eye. Today while cleaning it, I noticed a white swollen spot inside. She had some previous signs of respiratory infection so I've been giving her Tylan 50. The whole flock is also drinking medicated corid water for a potential coccidiosis issue.

I did a little research and at first thought it was just swollen due to blocked sinuses, but this white mass concerns me. I read a few places it could maybe be a worm, so I tried popping it and it didn't really do anything. (I couldn't get it to pop)

Any suggestions?

So today I decided to bring the head inside and give her a bath and try to massage her sinuses. While blow-drying her I noticed a scabby matted feather area under One Wing. Upon further inspection I realized that it went really deep. So I started digging and pulling out scab, debris, and what I'm assuming is hardened pus. THERE IS SO MUCH!! I just kept going deeper and deeper and pulling more and more out. There is still more to get, but I felt bad for the hen and wanted to give her a break. I will add new pics

Does she have a bad odor which could be a sign of coryza? Do you see any signs of pecking? MG and coryza can cause a respiratory disease that may cause pus and swelling in and around the eye and face. I would try to remove any obvious pus. You may want to read a few threads by checking the search box aboveat the top of the page and look for pus removal in eye. As always, if you have access to a vet, that might speed things up.

I did suspect coryza, because of others in the flock that got it. However, she doesn't have the telltale smell or nasal discharge. The eye itself doesn't have much discharge, just a lot of swelling (and some swelling in the wattle). The best way I can describe the white spot is almost like a swollen part of her inner eye that is flesh colored on most of it, but just milky white one one side. I have tried squeezing it and even lancing it with a needle and it doesn't seem to do anything. At this point She is still eating and drinking and I'm hoping she will bounce back.

I have her on tylan 50 and am smearing her eye with loads of neosporin.
