Coop update. Need some advice

Ok. So as long as I just stormy up I can get away with two changes a year? How deep does the bedding have to be to achieve this.

Thanks for all the help

Really you can just determine that as you go. You can't really have too much, but you can have too little. If it seems like it is getting dirty or stinky, add more bedding and stir. You will know when you have the right amount, and then maintain that.

Also, for stirring I use a little plastic rake that came with a kit for cleaning up dog waste. I'm not sure what other people use but if your coop is walk in then something with a longer handle will save your back. The other thing I use is a paint scraper/putty knife to scrape off the roosts.

A quick update. Got all of the hardware cloth done, and some generic landscaping. I bent the hardware cloth at a 90 degree angle straight out (it's under the landscaping). A quick question, what's the best way to attach two pieces of hardware cloth together?

I usually use outdoor zip ties but the "proper" way is to sew them with wire (the wire that comes wrapped around the roll works) though its near impossible or at least very difficult to do by yourself.

I used zip ties. I made the mistake of starting with chicken wire, but now the chicken wire is just added protection- with hardware cloth properly attached over top. I also used the zip ties to connect the two types of fencing. Figured it wouldn't hurt anything.
