What about the gender of this one? Thanks for your help?

This Speckled Sussex (front) has a slightly larger comb than the other large hens. At 7 1/2 weeks perhaps a comb starting to appear is normal for hens too? OR is she possibly a cockerel? I hope not. She is so pretty. Thanks for your input!

Well...I can't really see her well in this picture but a larger comb than the others doesn't necessarily mean cockerel. I'm not seeing a comb that screams boy, but it is hard to tell in the picture. A side shot would be good.

1 rabbit, two dogs, three cats, 50+ (number goes up & down) free-range 'mutt' hens, roos, chicks, lots of fish (tilapia) and a Jersey cow and heifer calf! Have had quail in the past.

I'm gonna go with pullet. However that could change and I could be wrong. Was she supposed to be sexed as a "pullet" when you got her?

Thanks for the info. My feed store gives a 90% chance of pullet in the larger breeds and only 50% with bantams. Hence the two bantam Roos I've got to get rid of.

I'm going with pullet now, but can you post a pic in a few weeks?
