Help! I cant keep my humidity up!

I have 4 mason jars with a sponge, 2 small shallow dishes with a sponge and 2 large pans with sponges under the eggs all filling with water and I can't keep the humidity above 65%! I can't fit more the maybe one more jar in the incubator now. I'm on day 19 right now. I never had this issue last year and I an plum out of ideas as to what else I can do :hit and I'm starting to freak out about my babies not surviving. Here is a pic of my egglets in the incubator.

Hmm, how full of water are the mason jars?  The fuller they are the less sponge surface area will be exposed.

Did you have the layer of cardboard over the bottom screen last year?  Though it's not sitting right against the water pans it seems that the moisture-laden airflow would have to come out the small gaps around the edges of the cardboard.

65% humidity....are you at day-18 or later?

Best wishes,

Ed

I'm on day 19, I'm sorry I forgot to add that. I was worried about the cardboard blocking airflow so I cut tons of squares into the cardboard. The mason jar are full.

Lower the water level in the jars, thus exposing more of the surface area of the sponges.  Use a spray bottle to "spritz" a little water around the incubator.  Place a pan of water close to the vents of the incubator.  Remember that it is the wet/water surface area that contributes the most to increasing humidity....not volume.

Oh, what is your local humidity level? Our outdoor humidity level is sitting at 56% at the moment.  A room humidifier (like used for babies) might help to kick the humidity up in the immediate area surrounding the incubator.

The humidity in my area is petty high it in the 80% range, but I have central AC so that lowers the humidity in the house. :( I will try the humidifier out!
