Can someone please help us?! What could cause four hens death in one night?

What could cause 4 chickens death in one night? Last night they were all alive and well when I closed the chicken coop door, this morning when I woke there were four dead. They were on their backs with eyes open. This is very alarming as there seem to be no change in their environment, feed and water. Can anyone help or have information that could put my mind to rest?

That is very alarming and no doubt devastating! I am very sorry for your loss. Do you have any survivors?
 
When I first started on BYC, I had read several posts where chicken(s) were found on their backs, feet up - dead. Then people were calling it "Flip." I think it was like a heart attack or stroke.
