Can you hatch them in a regular incubator? What year do the females start to lay, I have a pair  (1 year old) and never really thought about it.

Here's another pic... not a baby, but of Enoch, my male, sitting on his nest of eggs.  The eggs have dirt on them since his nest is on the ground.  He completely ignores the 8' x 8' shelter DH built for his nest, and builds his own on the dirt under a cedar tree.

He's such a good broody!

Another pic of Enoch... with 3 of his just hatched chicks.  He's still in his trance-like state, with a few more yet to hatch eggs under him.  It amazes me that he'll sit on his nest for about 56 days without eating or drinking.

Are they flock birds and need to be kept in pairs or are they happy as singles?

I have my 2 dogs (pit bull type dogs), 2 cats, and the chicken crew: Mabel (partridge rock), Eleanor (EE), Mildred (BLRW), Victoria (welsummer), Helen (EE), Norma (SLW), and Maxine (Columbian Wyandotte), Mathilda (Blue Rock) and Ester (BCM), all on my suburban "farm".
