Please help! I have a broody hen and I have tried EVERYTHING! I had her in a raised cage for 2 days and she still wants to sit! I don't want to put her back in the cage

Should she stay in for 3-4 days? Until she lays an egg? I've even tried bags of frozen veggies! Any advice would help! Thanks!

Why don't you want to put her back in the cage?

What breed?
If she's broody, she doesn't mind sitting in a cage. You have to let the cool air reach her bottom till the hormone cycle is broken.
Depending on breed and if caught early enough, 2 days should be sufficient but if she's been broody for a while, it could take a week. Just make sure she has food and water in the cage.
She won't lay eggs while she is broody. Laying ceases when a hen is broody. Normally, they would lay a clutch, stop laying, start setting and not lay again till the resulting chicks are weaned.

Hi and welcome to BYC. You have some great advice from CC - it may seem a little harsh, but in a few days she'll be back to her normal self.

Best wishes
