Hi everyone- it's wonderful to join such a dynamic community!
A little about us- we have six Isa Browns at 14 weeks that we picked up at TSC (our first ever). They are happily scratching away in our enclosed 1/4 backyard, and roost in a pre-fab Summerhawk coop. We augment their foraging with feed, though they are doing a great job finding food on their own. My brother keeps chickens (2 years now) with hens for laying, and a rotating meat flock. We had always been envious
Our plan is to sell our current home in a few years and purchase a small farm to continue our move off the grid- the chickens were a way to not only give our kids a gift of learning, but also a gift to ourselves to keep our goal in mind.
The pic is of our alpha Charlie at around 10 weeks old.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Todd
