How about a toasted english muffin spread with some yummy hummus, topped with a 1/2" thick slice of fresh tomato, then salt and pepper!

Lemon-pepper/garlic, bread stuffed pork chop (it's a bigun), gravy, fresh green beans and freshly picked sweet corn.

 

 

 

 

Still waiting on my heirloom tomatoes.  Had one ripen and my plants are loaded, but I got a late start with my plants this year.

How about a fried shrimp Po' Boy sandwich with cole slaw and shrimp sauce.

They're dead simple to make. We use frozen fried shrimp so we fry it about 3 minutes and drain. Toast our rolls and slather with shrimp sauce (ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice), plop on the shrimp and smother with fresh cole slaw. They are drippy good. We also do this with oysters and homemade crab cakes.

One pot supper tonight - onions, carrots, cabbage, potatoes, and polish sausage. Just layer it in the pot with about 1/4 water, stick on the lid and cook until the potatoes are tender. Simple, good and filling. This comes from my husbands german family. Salting and peppering each layer helps. Herbs or spices can be added to taste or the sausage type can be changed.

For tonight:  Stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes and carrots prefaced by a leafy green/tomato salad.

 

 

 

Christmas day it will a rosemary/garlic rib roast, mashed potatoes (lots of gravy), green beans, and biscuits, and yep we'll be having a salad too.  droolin.gif

 

I like to cook, but I LOVE to eat.

OH- Yea, you revived this post. I used it for ideas. I used all the cabbage for the kraut crock... but I know where to get more. I do not be live I have ever made it for my son. He's an eater too.
