So, I tried something new last night. I was so tired and had no energy to make the meal I had planned. The easiest thing I had available was some preformed grass fed hamburger patties, but the were frozen.
I knew I would need to get a really good sear on them to keep them from drying out before they were done. I sprinkled salt pepper and granulated garlic on one side and then... Now, here is the new part, I brushed them with sesame oil. I also sprinkled course ground sea salt on the bottom of an ungreased pan and got it nice and hot before plopping the frozen patties in seasoned side down. I repeated the seasoning and oil on the up side. Seared the first side flipped and seared the second side. I lowered the heat and covered them loosely and turned them often to keep the juices flowing tword the middle. NO smashing, never smash.
I served them medium with catsup, a little mayo, avocado and mild white cheddar on a potato bun.
Wow, were they ever amazing. The sesame oil added such a nice flavor.
So good we had them again tonight...
