Hey guys!
I convinced my family we should get some chickens, we are allowed up to four hens on the property. I started building my coop yesterday using pallet wood and some scrap ends from my local home depot. Thus far this build has cost me nothing!
I have some questions:
1) I live in canada but we have very mild winters where I am, we are lucky if we get a few cm of snow a year. I was planning on insulating the roof and nothing else. Thoughts? The breeds of chickens I will be getting are all cold hardy.
2) if you look at the pics I have left some gaps at the top and was planning on using those as vents; too much? Too little? Just right?!
3) to make cleaning easier and to make sure the coop doesn't absorb moisture I would like to cover the floor and walls with something, I was thinking corrugated plastic sheeting or vinyl sheeting?
I think that's it for now, thanks in advance!
