Hello. Does anyone know anything about frizzle chickens? In specific, this one?

I bought it at my local co-op a few weeks back, but they didn't know anything about it, they told me that Frizzles are a breed. However, I know this isn't true, I believe I heard somewhere that the frizzle trait is a gene .

Also, in the tub that the chicks were in, they were labeled "frizzels". Does anyone know what breed this frizzle would be? And is it just me or does this chicken almost look as if it might be a cockerel. Ahh!

Any chicken breed can have the frizzle trait bred into them. 'Frizzle' is a trait such as certain dog breeds might be described as being 'rough' or 'smooth coated'. It's most likely a bantam cochin with those fluffy legs and it does look like a cockerel with those red wattles coming through.
