Moldy Cheese, A Cute Story

When we started raising chickens for the first time last year... My wife's Mother was excited as in Hungary/Germany in the 30s/40s of course they had chickens.  She said she knew what loved the most.... moldy cheese.  O YES, they love moldy cheese over regular cheese and it is good for them.   I know many of you say never anything with mold.   But if you were in Hungary/Germany in those times you would never give your chickens anything you would eat.  So when they fed them the moldy cheese of course they ate it up and her recollection.  So she always brings our chickens her moldy cheese.

Welcome to BYC :frow That story made me smile! I absolutely understand that edible food were way too good to give to the flock and chickens being chickens, will eat just about anything offered. :)

:welcome    Love the story!

I ask the Lord to be with me,
As I walked through the dell,
Then came the dark of night,
And the darkness quietly fell.
Then I trembled in great fear,
As the dark of night hung low,
Then I heard the Father say,
"The darkness is my shadow."

Welcome to BYC..

Chickens are perfect for recycling food that has gone bad into good fresh food.

Composting is good for the environment..
Composting Geese is better for the environment
Composting ducks is best for the environment.
Start your composted Duck pile today,
if you do not have your duck
Borrow a neighbors duck to compost own...
