i am asking on another forum about differences between sop barred rocks and bruner roundhead gafebirds, but the question i have is can you take the characteristic from the bruner mix and thake it back to an sop quality chicken. if so how many breedings would it take toget back? ty for all insight
 
pat? and i guess that means i would not be able to do what i was wanting to:create a signiture in my flock. make it different but in a good way like size and weight and egg productivity if i took it back to game birds.
 
You can make any bird, any time you wish. That's part of the interest folks have in chickens. Easy to make whatever you wish.

However, you original title mentions the Standard of Perfection. This is a book, an encyclopedia of standard bred birds, breeds and their lengthy and precise descriptions.

Making your own project and breeding to a specific breed standard is two different things really.
 
I wanted to know if I could breed game into br and take the size trait from the game but take the barred rock back to pure or close. Or when showing does it have to be full on one breed. I've never been to a poultry show before
