How to tell if incubating turkey egg is alive or not?

I've had a turkey egg incubating in my hova bator still air at around 100-101 degrees for 22 days now and am not sure if it's even alive. I only see a dark-ish unmoving blob when I candle it and am not sure if it is a late stage quitter. Can anyone help me out?
 
I don't think at this point you can tell, if it's all dark that's good, keep incubating it, and hopefully on day 28 it will hatch, if it doesn't by day 30 I would get rid of it.
 
Alright, will do! Anything to look for while it's incubating to tell if it's a quitter (Movement or lack of, smell, general appearance etc.)?
 
Air cell reduction. If it's close to top of egg probably a quitter.

But take into a pitch black room and candle darker the better.

I use my light off me cell phone to candle. Probably not the best but it works.

Easiest to see movement on day 25-27 air cell is drawn down and movement is easily seen in the membrane.

Can you see any veins at all or just dark mass?

The only other thing is what humidity did you run during incubation?
 
It is close to the air cell. I think I may see a vein but it's hard to tell. I ran the incubator at around 50% humidity.
 
For me personally the humidity is a tad high but I found dry incubation works the best for me.

I would say wait til day 26 or 27 and candle again.

If nothing visible then and egg not smelling wait til day 30 like oldenlikesdogs said and I would toss.

If it is a late quitter they can be so frustrating.

Alright! Candled again today, and saw nothing except a dark blob that moved when the egg was turned, and some dark stuff towards the air cell.
 
Well you have about 5 more days, you are aware it takes 28 days to hatch? I would just keep incubating and see, don't count it out until after the incubation period.
 
I candled it again today and once again saw nothing except a slightly darker orange blob floating around in the egg and moving in whichever direction I moved the egg as well as some black-ish crap along the air cell. It doesn't stink but I think it is a quitter. Thoughts?
