I purchased from a well liked breeder, but I keep getting told they are not silkies!!

13 weeks old. I have been told numerous times that my birds are not "true silkies". I paid good money for them, from a PT tested flock, and very well taken care of flock. They look like silkies to me... But people keep telling me that silkies don't have combs.. (I'm pretty sure all poultry have combs)... I do notice that my silkies have more "face" showing than most I've seen posted online... But what do y'all think?
And is there any way at all that these things can be sexed yet? I am thinking I was stuck with all three being cockerels... But not sure..

That bird is a Silkie cockerel, but it's not a correct Silkie. It's definitely hatchery quality, so whatever stock the breeder is working with isn't particularly good quality. Fine if you just want a pet, not so fine if you wanted to show or were very invested in having the "real deal".

You are correct, all poultry (save a few with the rare comb less mutation) have combs; however, those of a true, breeder or show quality Silkie would be largely covered by feathers, and in females basically invisible.

Thanks for y'alls replies. That's okay if they aren't show quality. I show cochin bantams, and focused on perfecting them. Lol I probably have three male silkies any how. Also, I was just wondering (I read somewhere) that some silkie varieties do not have Muffy and beards, and they can show, but they won't place at all because the preferred variety is heavy beards and muffs? I just wanted to ask and double check. (Again, no worries I won't show them! Lol)
Just glad to know they are indeed silkies.
