New chicken mama!

So we recently got 7 laying hens and 3 ducklings. They are all getting along really well, ducklings sleep inside at night. But I have one hen who is, how do I put this nicely....a dink. She attacks the duckling and other chickens. Have any of you experienced a mean hen? What can I do?

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

I think we have all had one of those stinkers at least once in our life.   Some will find a way to separate the stinker from the others ..  some will just...re home them.

  WELCOME!

Hi and welcome to BYC - great to have you onboard. As @Cynthia12 says, you could try isolating the aggressor for a couple of weeks and then see how she goes once re-introduced. If she still wants to be a tyrant, then the crockpot is a good option :)

All the best

Welcome to BYC :frow Glad you joined us! Unfortuantely there often is that one bird that wants to be a bully.. Here is some advice on how to deal with them:

Best of luck!
