Will pullets lay eggs in another location that's not their coop?

my pullets are about to lay any time now! I have 2 mottled javas and two speckled Sussex. I mortified this store bought coop to make more room for the four of them.. They like their coop but I want to make more room in there for them.. I blocked off the nesting boxes for a while with chicken wire then I opened them back up yesterday and saw last night that they where sleeping in them!

I think because the perches corespond with the boxes.. I do have this hutch I used from when they where chicks.. I was thinking about butting nesting boxes in the hutch and just taking the news ting boxes out of the coop.. But my question is will chickens lay their eggs in a different location than their coop that they sleep in? Id like to put the hutch right next to the coop thats in their run

Here is their coop.. Also my mottled javas are huge! I don't even think they can fit in these little nesting boxes anyway

I've never tried it, or read about it, but hopefully someone will chime in soon. If the hutch could be inter-connecting with the main coop then for sure that would be fine. You can even do away with the actual nesting boxes if you wish as they will happily lay on the bedding of the hutch (I use dry grass clippings and leaves for the floor of my coop and my girls decided that they preferred that to boxes).

All the best
