Zahir throws one of his daggers at Xylo to break his concentration, then turns into a black cobra, coiled around Luna. He starts to squeeze her, and has his fangs poised at her neck, ready to sink into her soft flesh.

"Anything. Don't touch her." Xylo pleaded. He then dodged the dagger and entered Vampires' Bane. His eyes lit up and he bellowed "Let her go!"

Zahir whispers" that stupid dragon wanted a truce, saying the whole thing was a ruse in the end to reign you in, reaper. If you are so strong, why do you cling to this girl? "
 
Zahir changes back to human to wield his daggers and use his heavy bracers. He deflects the scythe with his bracers. He is now laughing, and ignoring Luna.

"Because I want to. She appeals to me, and you will not harm her " Xylo said. He sliced at Zahir's stomach. Then at his tail. Then at his head.
