I have a female Pekin that is showing the usual broody behavior ( scrunching her neck, quacking loudly, and wiggling her tail all the time). She has been a little laying machine the past couple of weeks and I collect the eggs every morning and check in the evening as well. Just this past week she has started the scrunch neck, tail wiggling, and aggressive quacking...but now she is also terrorizing the other females. She chases them around, biting at them. She won't let them go in the coop even thought I've already collected her eggs from in there. I'm considering separating her for a bit and putting her in a pen with one of my drakes (since she doesn't chase the drakes). My question is: How long does a duck typically go broody or show this broody behavior? I don't know what else I could do since I make sure she doesn't get the chance to try to sit on the eggs after she lays.
