Hey all! I picked up these three pretty ladies today. The owner told me that she got them at tractor supply and that it said they were "reds." She asked if they were RIR's or something else, the employee was unable to answer because he/she did not know. Anyway, here are some pics, please let me know what they are. Thanks!

Now what does red sex link mean? Aren't there many subdivisions of these cross breeds such as red star, golden comet, amber whites etc? Do you think they are one of the above mentioned?

Red sex link is like a generic name. Red Star, Cinnamon Queen, etc are trade names from different hatcheries. If you wanted to research back to what hatchery that particular TSC got their chicks from, you could possibly find out which brand name you have. Doesn't really matter, though. Your hens all had a Red father and a silver mother and are undoubtedly female due to their red/gold coloring. They'll lay tons of large brown eggs once they hit their strides laying.

They are all 3 months old, when will they start laying?

Also, I have a dominique rooster. In the event that breeding takes place, what would the offspring look like? Do you or anyone else know what this cross looks like?

They'll lay around 20 weeks of age.

Your Dominique male will throw mostly black barred offspring. With these mommas being mixed already, you could get some pretty calico colors with the barring, similar to this.....
