Khaki Campbell raise their young?

Hard to see them, but had at least 2 ducklings in the nest today. I did find 1 broken shell outside of the house yesterday, so not sure of it came from one of them. Otherwise, don't know where the other broken shell is. Both look to be healthy!

Of those 5 that looked perfectly healthy, one was belly up this morning. I also found a smashed egg in the nest this morning with a dead duckling.

The success rate was really good as far as fertile eggs and development. However survival of the hatch and afterward, not so much. Hopefully the 4 I have now will make it and be all hens..... My luck they will be all drakes.

I have 2 ducklings that hatched yesterday & seem to be doing fine. I can see 1 more egg has pipped and should be hatched tomorrow. I am wondering if there can be too many eggs in the nest & it make it difficult for some that may be on the bottom to hatch or will the momma shift the eggs around instinctly so that ones that are hatching will be on top?

I found 2 eggs deep in the nest. They had hatched and we're dead outside the shell. I don't think my hens were good moms.

I've had 15 in one nest hatch. Shouldn't be a problem.

Yesterday I had a 3rd duckling hatch! There are still 15-20 eggs still in the nest. My concern is that they have all been laid at different times over a 4 week span, so I am only expecting 1-2 to hatch every few days. I guess as long as my momma keeps sitting, they will be fine, but the last that hatched seemed to be trapped between the other eggs and as soon as I moved it out of the nest, it quickly broke free from its shell. Don't know if that was just coincidence with good timing or if I had left it alone, would it still have been able to hatch without difficulty.
