Male or Female?

This is my sister's chick about 9 weeks old. It's a Gold Laced Wyandotte and when she bought them, they were supposed to be all hens, but this one has a bigger comb and waddles below than her other chicks. She doesn't have another one of this breed to compare to though. How often are they wrong when sexing?

Definitely a cockerel.

With Wyandottes, vent sexing is 95-98% accurate.

I'm in the opposite boat, wanting to know what a 9 week old GLW cockerel would look like so thank you for posting a great picture!

Here are 2 pullets at 9 weeks for reference:

18 layers of various breeds and 8 cute chicks... and a broody sitting on the last chicks produced by our Super Blue roo and Super Blue pullet.

RIP Gus, our beautiful Super Blue rooster.  May you live on through your beautiful chicks!
