This morning i let my ducks out to free range when i left for work. My yard is fenced in and the gate was still locked when i got home but the rouen who had grown more feathers was missing.
Could she have flown away?
I'd look in every little crack and crevice you can think of. We had a young duck stuck in a pallet last weekend. We were almost sure we had lost her to a predator. She squeaked when I got close to the pallet and saw she was caught in the middle of it. We have no idea how she got there in the first place but it took me breaking out one of the boards to release her. They can squeeze into very small places, surprisingly. Good luck, I hope you find her.
I have learned my lesson too many times with predators. I have lost full grown ducks during the day to hawks and at night to a bobcate while free roaming around our pond and many more inside their fenced area at night to an owl. The owl left only pieces of flesh and feathers I now have netting over the fenced area and only let them free roam when we are home to watch them. Hope you are able to find your missing duck!
