Hi my fellow backyard chickeners I have 2 New Hampshire Reds and I have been searching and searching but I can't find how many eggs thew will lay per year. Any help would be nice.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

New Hampshires are so pretty! However I am not sure how often they lay. You might do some posting in our New Hampshire thread...the members that hang out there should know all there is to know about this breed! :)

Enjoy your birds and the site! Make yourself at home here and welcome to our flock! :)

If they are hatchery sourced, they will lay about 6 eggs a week for their first 2 years of laying and then production will begin to taper off after each annual molt. They will average about 300 eggs a year for the first couple years, if provided supplemental light during the winter. Letting them take a break each winter will help extend their productive years, though.

Hi and welcome to BYC - you have some great advice already so I'll just say hello!

All the best
