My hen, Scruffles has a black comb (I think they're scabs because when you touch it, it bleeds), a hard time breathing (labored, shallow gasps), and the runs. I thought it was because her back end was clogged up. I gave her a warm bath, complete with Epsom salt, and "unclogged" her. She literally layed down in the bath and we didn't even have to hold her. Once we took her out, she stayed laying down on the ground for a good three minutes before my sister walking by scared her up. Could it just be because she was relaxed? Can being clogged up cause the other symptoms? If not, what do you think I should do/ what it is.
P.s Scruffles is her name because even though she is a Rhode Island Red, the base of her tail never lost those downy looking feathers. I checked for parasites, but didn't find any so I don't think that's the problem.

Hey,guys,we are having a serious problem and any advice helps. Our whole flock is sick puffy and full of water like liquid eyes, they are sneezing and coughing, runny nose and green mucus is coming out their mouths. We have them on oxytetracycline but it doesn't seem to help. More and more get infected every day and we lost over 5 of the little ones already. Is there anything we can do about it? We have over 20 sick right now. Some are very bad and they need to be hand fed and given water. Any advice helps.

Thank you Yorkshire Coop, I didn't know there were two types of Fowl pox - shame on me.

Your most welcome DD and no shame on you at all!!.

Sounds like respiratory infection sweeping through your flock. I'm afraid in general when one gets it it will incubate in your other birds and they will all get it.
I will look up what else you could give them.
