Thread Starter

My name is Matt, and I live in Nacogdoches, Texas.  My wife and I just got 4 little chicks (2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Ameraucanas) that are only about 2 weeks old now.  My wife had the idea of getting chickens last year, so my Christmas present for her this past Christmas was to build her a chicken coop.  I based it mostly off of the design of the "Country Acres" plans that someone posted on this site.  I changed several things from the original plans.  Here is a photo I took of the progress back in February:

It's since been painted red and has all of the wire up and doors on the end of the run.  Glad to be here and hope to learn things as we go as this is the first time either of us has owned chickens!

Hi welcome-byc.gif Matt

Glad you could join us here! That's some great handy work there with your coop! We have a coop contest running right now that you might like to enter ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1072147/official-byc-coop-and-run-page-contest-winter-spring-2016/0_30

How to create a coop page and how to enter are all in the first post of the thread. If it does not allow you to make a page at first you may just need a few more posts.

Congrats on your new chicks clap.gif I'm sure you will enjoy them very much.

Enjoy your time here on BYC and all the chicken chat frow.gif

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
