Ok...now these are about 14 weeks old. I am still thinking they both may be Roos but neither are crowiing. The BLRW tail does not look like a Roo to me and the partridge Wyandotte tail kind of flops down. I know the size and feathering says Roo but his attitude does not say Roo. I have added a pic of my maran hens...same age but one is white. Please I let me know any and all comments on all. Thanks so much. Kathy

I think the BLRW looks like a pullet. The lacing is very even. Also, I read that Roos don't get lacing on the tail. After reading that I looked at dozens of roo pics and none had tail lacing.

BLRW looks like a pullet to me. And let me say, I'm jealous! I had one for a couple of years and she was a faithful broody - went broody the last week in April for 2 years in a row. The friendliest chicken I had at the time. I don't make pets of my chickens, but she turned herself into one. Always came right up to me, let me pet her then followed me around. She was killed in our coop protecting her chicks a couple of years ago. (Middle of the day, run was open, other birds were out free ranging. Mama coon came in through pop door. Chicks survived, hen didn't. Dog alerted DH to ruckus and he took care of Mama and 4 baby coons.)

PW looks male to me.
