White leg horn hen, about 1 year old, she is the leader of the flock, matured faster than all the other chickens. This week she started to stop coming out of coop and just sitting in a nest. Hasn't laid in a couple days, I felt her crop and it does seem like she is eating. She's looking ragged, I am thinking she is molting. She is not roosting, pretty bare on her belly with very small feathers

Well, she may actually be broody. It's really rare in leghorns, but she's displaying the classic signs such as staying on the nest all day, not laying, and plucking her stomach and chest. When you approach her on the nest, does she puff up and you and maybe growl?

so I have one austrolop that went broody for a while, but she would come out more often, Adrain (the white leg horn) is staying in all day, she does puff way up and does small clucks, the other chicken would sqaulk at me, maybe that it though, it was my first thought

ok, so a couple months later the white leg horn has gone in and out of broody, but now I have only 1 or 2 chickens laying a day, how do I kick these girls back into laying
