Entertainment?

Hi guys, my 9 month old Pekin Ginger is sometimes bored and laying on the ground with his beak in his feathers, he does have a little clam pool but he only goes in there sometimes, is there any other way to entertain him while i do my stuff, plz leave some suggestions, thanks!
 
First thing, if you only have one duck, get him a friend! Ducks are social and like to have a buddy to forage around with. The biggest entertainment I can give my ducks is letting them into another yard or free ranging. Today we had an on again off again rain storm and I let them free range our property during it and they had a blast. It's 4 in the afternoon and they are just now finally laying down to rest! If you don't have a ton of space, I'd say even opening up your pen and letting him peck around outside it for even an hour while supervised would be enjoyable for him. I also like to throw some kind of treat (usually frozen peas) on the ground and cover it with hay so they have to sift through it to find the goodies. I have a spare kiddie pool and sometimes I change it out with their current one and they find create enjoyment from the new pool for some reason. Other than that though, I'm still looking for duck entertainment tips myself!
 
Thanks! That hay treat thing i think was really creative, but i dont think i can get another duck because my mum says they do too much of that poo. Ginger has been living on its own for already around 6 months, his mate Nigella died because she couldnt get an egg out which was really sad

, if only i could have done something, Ginger would have not been alone. I'll try the hay treat thing. Another thing if you want to entertain your ducks is throw a corn cob into the water and that will keep them busy and entertained while you do your other stuff! Thanks for the advice!
