We have a friend rehabilitating a killdeer. He was out in his runner pen and a hawk tried to get him through the wire. They ran outside and scared the hawk away. After bringing Peewee in they noticed he was full of air. They researched and discovered he probably has a broken air sac. They punctured the skin with a syringe needle to let the air out. Did they do the right thing? Does anyone have any advice?
