What inspired the name(s) of your chicken(s)?

I'd love to hear the stories behind your chicken names...just because! :]

Mine for example:
Oscar Goldman is from the show Trailer Park Boys. An episode called "Where in the 'Heck' is Oscar Goldman?"
Steve French is the name of a mountain lion from the same show.
Lo Pan is from Big Trouble In Little China
Darkwing is our duckling, from the show Darkwing Duck! (if it wasn't obvious haha)

Goldie locks- Buff orpington
Ginger- Golden campine
Summer- Brown leghorn
Winter-white leghorn
Francisco (means french man)-French black copper maran
Oddete (swan princess)- white Plymouth rock
Aurora- white Plymouth rock
kisses (because of the chocolate eggs)- french back copper maran
Angelina- EE
Rini (means bunny)- EE
Alaina (means little rock)- bantam Plymouth rock
Henrietta- Plymouth rock
Bluebell- blue silkie
Lilac- Blue silkie
Magnolia- white silkie

Aw Oddete! What adorable names and so fitting!!

Thanks for sharing!

I dunno where I came up with the names for my birds. I like the old names tho.

Gertrude - EE, I think she's a blue wheaten? Has a lot of grey and rusty tones. Just liked the name.
Henrietta - Gotta have a chicken with that name! I think my mom had a distant relative with that name. She's the orangey-gold speckled with black EE.
Esmeralda and Griselda are my two BRs. I dunno, the names just popped in my head! LOL
Elvira and Morticia are my two BSLs. Guess just cuz they're black.
Frederika and Josephine are my GLWs.
Phoebe and Angelica are the two white silkies. Didn't wanna use the "powder puff" or other silly names. They're just two sweet little innocent babies.

I seem to like names that end in "A"

I haven't come up with names for all my birds but, so far, we have:

- Rainbow mixed breed Rooster, named Gene Kelly for his talented singing (hopefully, the dancing will follow soon...!)
- Yellow mixed breed girl, named Isabel (after Elizabeth I of England)
- Black mixed breed girl, named Lucrezia (after Lucrezia Borgia)
- White Silkie girl, named Rufina (the name evokes a strong-tempered person, which was her way until the rooster scared the hell out of her)
- Red Star girl named Catarina (after Catherine the Great)
- Red Star girl, named Victoria (after the latin "victory", because she is a valiant little character)
- Black Star girl, named Emilia (after a certain old lady I once knew)
- Black Star girl, named Gertrud (because I have the strange idea that this is a typical chicken name)
