Muscovy Ducklings

We got all our muscovies from a breeder / farmer, all our drakes and hens came from him. I've seen pictures of people's drakes but they don't seem to be as big as ours. They are massive, min. 12 lbs atleast maybe more. Could it be the ducklings are growing so slowly, since their father was so big? And as soon as we started feeding them correctly their size shot up extremely (ducklings) , but now I'm not sure if they are correct size for age?
Muscovy drakes can top out at 15lbs. so if yours are 12lb at 4 months I'd say you have some whoppers.

oh no I wasn't talking about the ducklings being 12lbs min, I meant the mating adult drake that is their "father" wasassive. So I was asking if they're taking so long to fully grow out, because the "father" was so large

If I understand your question, you're wondering why the ducklings aren't growing at the pace you think they should be, given their sire's size. You mentioned that they weren't getting proper nutrition early on - that could have affected their growth, possibly permanently. Pics might be helpful.

I might haveessed up the upload of the pics but they should show up. Please give me your thoughts on their size or if theyre normal.?
