My cemani eggs look great, too!!! (Course, I cracked one while candling. ūüė≠Leaving them on the egg turner next time. I tried patching it with wax; we'll see what happens. ) I am bummed out by the crested cream legbar eggs I bought from Papas poultry, I got 8 and 7 have quit. At least the 12 cemani, monkey spit-11 cemani eggs are doing good.

I had better results repairing cracks with nail polish vs. wax. Another member swears up and down liquid skin is the way to go. I bought a container to test next time I have a crack.

I have had great results using magic tape (the white peel able Sellotape) on cracks. Best do any repair ASAP before bacteria enter via the crack.

Good tip!

Oh no! I would've bawled! Hopefully it keeps developing for you. I'm sorry the CCL aren't doing good at all though. I really wish I could ship. I may look into the NPIP alternative testing in the spring.

My CCL girls are driving me crazy. They know that I'm setting eggs on Friday...so I have 2 from them hmm.png That's out of 4 girls since Sunday lol. Hopefully the new roo is doing his job and gives me some decent babies. I'll be saving their eggs this week and next week, then I'm releasing everyone back into the flock. I only have so many heated water dishes and winter is coming *bleh*.

My lavender ameraucanas are even worse! They've been seperated for over a month now. They weren't laying yet but were close. I got one egg comb them last week and I was super excited. I haven't gotten a single one since lol. That one is developing though so I guess that means they're fertile lol

I know the feeling as soon at we get freezing weather everyone goes into general population as I've got one big waterer in going to put a heater in and that's it. I can't afford to run 20 heaters...lol.

I'm hoping to get my svarts separated and get some chicks but again I don't want to raise chicks in the house...

On another note, I've got a bone to pick with @cjwaldon, these birds I got from you have produced countless pullets in brown and in isabel, one isabel rooster who is ugly as sin, and 2 brown roosters... lau.gif
NPIP & AI CLEAN
Ducks I raise: Snowy calls and Anconas
Chickens I raise: Ohiki, Swedish flower, svart hona, chocolate, mauve, mauve splash, cuckoo, blue, splash and black orps (bantams, ENGLISH), brown/isabel leghorns, and easter eggers. New for 2017 chocolate cuckoo english orpingtons(large fowl) and Buff saddleback pomeranian geese!
And, 1 lonely guinea hen who thinks she's a duck.
