I have two orphan baby geese. I'm guessing they were 2 wks old when I got them and I've had them 5 wks. One has both wing ends sticking out to the side.

Have seen discussions on angel wing and blood feathers and wonder if I should wrap the wings. When the wings extend out they look normal except for the ends that hang down like your arm extended out with a limp wrist so you hand hangs down. The siblings wings look fine. Hope these pics show well.
They are free to graze on weeds and some grass where ever it is able to grow. I feed rolled corn with some All Flock pellets mixed in. I give lettuce but they mostly dont eat it.
They have kiddy swim pools and a small pond when it fills with rainwater.
My lone male goose has taken over their care for me for that I am thankful.

Thank you.

Sour has a good guess, it might very well be angel wing... but, it might not... it could just be growth spurt as those are some big, blood filled pin feathers coming in... the wings might not have gotten strong enough, quick enough to keep up yet...

I had a duckling we thought had angel wing, wrapped her wing for a few days, it corrected but was stiff for a while and she turned out fine... but it happened again recently with a couple more... I did not wrap and waited to see as I did not feel comfortable wrapping those pin feathers up, too worried they might break and bleed being confined... the other 2 ducklings ended up self correcting as the feathers grew out and their wings gained strength...

So I'd advise waiting for a bit longer, just until the flight feathers come in well and see if it starts improving first... just my 2 cents... :)

Rav, don't you think they would just be drooping rather than sticking out if it was just the blood feathers? Do you think cutting back on the All Flock pellets would be a good idea?

Mine stuck out just like those... I'll see if I can dig up a clear pic and switch to mobile so I can post it...

I feed straight All Flock 20% with no issues, and they said they're mixing it with corn so that would cut the protein % down considerably already... personally, I'd cut out the corn to a handful on occasion...

Unfortunately, I couldn't find good, clear pics when it was at the worst, but I did find some pics... sorry, I'm on mobile so might be hard to see in some...

At this point, both wing tips are sticking straight out...

Right side started correcting quickest...

More... notice the feathers are now growing out well...

And this I took just now... it finished correcting on both sides once the blood feather grew into full flight feathers...

I took a new pic just now and attached it here. I apologize, I am not too good on the computer. I really appreciate your help. I've never had a baby goose before so this is all new to me. I've had baby ducks and chicks without seeing this issue. I just want to do the best I can for this baby. It looks like black feathers peeping out of the feather shaft. Do you think I should wait or try to wrap.
Thank you so much,

Now it's showing the heavy droop more... I still think it's 'growing pains' and just needs time to adjust to the new weight of the wings... but it's your call on wrapping... wrapping wouldn't hurt really, but I don't think waiting a few days would either...
